O QUE É A ELSA SUMMER LAW SCHOOL?
A SELS (Summer ELSA Law School) é um programa organizado pela ELSA Internacional que oferece aos estudantes de Direito e jovens juristas a oportunidade de aprofundar os seus conhecimentos jurídicos em áreas específicas durante o verão São eventos intensivos que combinam formação académica, networking e atividades culturais. Durante uma semana, os participantes assistem a palestras, workshops e seminários lecionados por especialistas na área jurídica, como advogados, professores universitários e juízes. A SELS Braga 2025 foca-se na Inteligência Artificial e a sua intersecção com diversas áreas, principalmente com o Direito.

SELS BRAGA 2004
ACADEMIC PROGRAMME
O programa académico abordou temas fundamentais da bioética, incluindo a gestação de substituição, a procriação medicamente assistida, o direito ao aborto, a eutanásia e os direitos dos reclusos. Os painéis também exploraram a ética dos ensaios clínicos e o papel essencial do consentimento informado na prática médica e na investigação científica. O evento fomentou o diálogo interdisciplinar, promovendo uma reflexão crítica sobre os desafios éticos da sociedade contemporânea.
SOCIAL PROGRAMME
No programa social, os participantes tiveram a oportunidade de visitar, para além de diversos museus e lugares históricos de Braga, Viana do Castelo e as suas lindas paisagens e praia. A passagem pelo museu do chocolate e a atividade de Laser Tag foram das mais apreciadas!

Last summer I had the opportunity to participate in the SELS “law and bioethics” in Braga, Portugal; an experience
that I carry and will always carry in my heart.
During those days I had the chance to interact with cultures different from mine, different languages and foods were the
backdrop of this stay; I learned a lot from diversity, which I believe is essential to know during your 20s in order to
treasure it and grow. The lessons were very interesting, full of insights, also for a research project such as a university
thesis, and furthermore, the professors’ availability to answer questions and their ability to engage was noteworthy.
If I had to summarize SELS in three words, these would be: growth, challenging oneself, and knowledge. So much in so
little time, I experienced very strong emotions and returned home with a wealth of priceless experiences. Also worth noting
is the importance of ELSA coordinators in this experience, young people like us who, however, went out of their way to
make us experience dream days and they succeeded.
I recommend the SELS experience to everyone, it was a roller coaster of mutual exchanges and serenity.
